SMO ON DIFFERENT SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media optimization (SMO) through more platforms can help you boost your brand’s visibility and engagement. As a matter of fact, when a brand is active on multiple social networks, its messages reach a larger audience through multiple touchpoints and people are able to recognize it in different situations.
SMO THROUGH MULTIPLE TOUCHPOINTS IN MULTIPLE SITUATIONS
If you look up recent statistics concerning social platforms such as the “Global Social Media Stats” published by DataReportal, you will realize that the typical user actively uses or visits an average of 6.7 different social media platforms each month, and spends an average of close to 2½ hours using social media each day.
Every social platform being different from others, here are my first tips to successfully allocate your marketing efforts on social media optimization (SMO). I advice you to start with:
- understanding the nature of different social media
- adding people, such as virtual assistants or social media agencies, to help you manage your platforms
- regularly reviewing your social media analytics
SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIMIZATION THROUGH MORE PLATFORMS
While there are plenty of social media platforms that many businesses use for connecting with their market, GasOn Marketing specializes in 6 social pillars: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube.
Whilst Facebook still reigns as the most used social network, Instagram has gained a lot of popularity these years, especially among young people and women. When talking about female audience, Pinterest is another valuable platform for marketers. On the other side, LinkedIn is a resource for B2B interactions as it is specifically designed for professionals and business people, and Twitter is useful to keep 24/7 communication with your audience. Also the world’s second-most visited website, YouTube, is considered a social media platform with viewers spending 41.9 minutes on YouTube daily across mobile, desktop, laptop and connected TV. Besides, YouTube is the 2nd most-used search engine following Google.
